Power of IT Award Given to Inspirational Teenage Girl

Anne Brooker, founder of The Dragonfly Project, received the first ever "The Power of IT Award." The award based off the book The Little Girl Who Found IT recognizes girls from all ages (5 to 95) who found IT and shared IT with others; making a difference in people's lives. The Dragonfly Project's mission is to share a message of hope to those who are grieving. Anne began the Dragonfly Project at 11 years old when a friend died of a brain tumor. The Second Power of IT Award Given to Founder of Pillowishes that Benefit Hospitialized Children

Jenny Blake, Founder of Pillowishes, recieved the Power of IT Award at the 4th annual Inspired Women's Retreat on November 10, 2007. Jenny inspires us to always find hope and share IT with others. Pillowishes began in 2003 when Jenny's 6-year-old son, Reid, was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer. While hospitalized for treatment, he met and bonded with another young girl, Jessie, who had the same cancer. Jessie sewed a pillowcase for Reid that brightened his room, his smile and his life. This act of kindness inspired Jenny to collaborate with her friend, Kelly, to make pillowcases with pockets. See how Finding IT partnered with Jenny to create a new product called Wish for IT.
